Open architecture also provides scalability and flexibility. It provides a variety of options including the ability to:
Open architecture specifications are public and include approved standards, as well as privately designed architectures whose specifications are made public by the designers. The advantage of open architecture is that anyone can design add-on products for it.
Going with a closed architecture/proprietary security surveillance system can be a very risky investment. Not only does it limit what you can do, but it also limits future expansion without the need for a major overhaul and considerable cost. With open architecture, you have the freedom to choose the best technology (i.e. cameras, storage, software, card readers, etc.). At Martin Systems, we support open architecture and will review various options with our customers, options that will fit the present need and also be able to support future needs.
Open architecture… now this is what Martin Systems calls an investment!
Installing a commercial security access control system means that you will never have to change a lock again. Key fobs are issued to allow access through the controlled doors, and are easily blocked from the system if they are lost, stolen or just not returned by someone who leaves your company. Unauthorized key fobs will not allow access through the controlled doors.
Once an access control system is installed, all doors controlled by the system will automatically lock when the door is closed. Anyone without a key fob is unable to enter. If necessary, doors may be set to unlock or lock during a designated time frame.
Access control can also offer flexible control over users’ access rights. For example, all staff can gain access through the main door of a building, but access to internal areas may be restricted to those who have a specific need to be there. Access may also be restricted by time, granting access only to particular users at specific times of the day.
Martin Systems provides key cards, data cards, Identicard, key fobs, keyless locks, swipecards, swipe readers, and various other electronic door controls.

A few things that need to be considered
Internet Protocol (IP) cameras, encoders, and network recorders have taken over market share from legacy analog systems. Their advent has contributed to the popularity of Video Management Systems (VMS). VMS software offers live viewing, storage and retrieval of video sequences. Advanced VMS software contains features such as:
For many organizations, VMS software is the only thing needed. However, other organizations need more than Physical Security to protect their employees, customers, and property. They need to be situationally aware of their environment, have proper operating procedures in place, and maintain an audit trail logging all activities and actions. Physical Security Information System (PSIM) can help your organization be more situationally aware. The PSIM collects information from various disparate systems, correlates and analyzes the data. This includes events and alarms from:
The PSIM manages incoming information in order to identify unique situations and their priorities. This information is illustrated in a logical fashion to the organization’s control room.
Martin Systems offers all levels of security alarm systems for your business, such as highly sophisticated monitored alarms systems using security cameras, smoke detectors and intrusion alarm systems.
We use the best alarm control equipment and detection devices, giving your system flexibility and ease of use. Our business intrusion alarm systems are custom-fit to protect small shops and large industrial premises and offices.
All new alarm installations are designed to adhere with the current intrusion standards. A risk assessment is also undertaken for all new intruder alarm installations to determine the insurance risk of the property. We can provide you with a full quotation to install a new alarm system, or to service and maintain an existing alarm system.
Motion Detectors
Using dual technology, infrared and microwave, motion detectors are ideal for commercial buildings and advanced enough to distinguish between humans and rodents, particularly important in warehouses.
Vibration & Glass Break Sensors
After you’ve locked up for the night our alarm systems can use vibration detectors fitted to walls, doors and windows to ensure that personnel are alerted at the earliest stages of a break in.
Door and Surface Contact Sensors
Detect unauthorized entry into your site with door and surface contact sensors which seamlessly integrate into alarm systems for needed protection and easy monitoring.

Knowledge is a critical aspect in effectively responding to complex emergency situations. Martin System's believes the more knowledge one has about a crisis, the better one can manage challenging situations. With this belief, we have developed a solution that gives individuals or groups situational awareness, allowing them to make more informed decisions when time is of the essence.
Martin Systems has pioneered an innovative solution, READY-U, that displays incoming responses to critical alerts. These responses aid individuals and groups in improving situational awareness to effectively manage critical and emergency situations. Because of our enhanced software capabilities, employees and safety personnel can acknowledge individual recipients, groups, or others via instant messaging, social media, or message boards.
