Don’t get backed into a corner

Open architecture and non-proprietary systems that deliver without the high cost of ownership.

How would you like to be told that:
  • You can only use one camera manufacture with your current DVR or NVR?
  • You can only use one card access system manufacture for integration into your video surveillance system or not have the ability at all?
  • You have to buy a block of 16 channels if you want to add one camera?
  • That integration with standards-based computer and Ethernet-based information systems, audio, or security systems are not easy and would cost a considerable amount of money to create a custom interface?
  • You can only use one integrator due to it being a closed system?
Have heartburn now? Relax. Open architecture and Martin Systems' can offer you immediate relief.

Additional Open Architecture Benefits:

  • Interoperable with various network appliances
  • Inherent cost advantage due to open systems components and architectures
  • Can utilize existing IP infrastructure
  • Choice of certified and qualified integrators
  • Standard video compression techniques
  • Leverage wireless transmission technologies

Open architecture also provides scalability and flexibility. It provides a variety of options including the ability to:

  • Use any ONVIF standardized camera or any camera manufacturer that provides SDK’s.
  • Integrate a card access system into your Video Management System (VMS).
  • Integrate into various disparate systems on your network, which is becoming an integral part of efficient security management and incident response time.
  • The ability to swap out hard drives, fans, and power supplies onsite.
  • The ability to choose the best integrator for the job and the security of knowing if your current integrator goes out of business, your system remains viable.

Open architecture specifications are public and include approved standards, as well as privately designed architectures whose specifications are made public by the designers. The advantage of open architecture is that anyone can design add-on products for it.

Going with a closed architecture/proprietary security surveillance system can be a very risky investment. Not only does it limit what you can do, but it also limits future expansion without the need for a major overhaul and considerable cost. With open architecture, you have the freedom to choose the best technology (i.e. cameras, storage, software, card readers, etc.).  At Martin Systems, we support open architecture and will review various options with our customers,  options that will fit the present need and also be able to support future needs.

Open architecture… now this is what Martin Systems calls an investment!

Access Control & Intercom

Keeping You in Control

Access control gives you the control to who has access to your building or specific buildings. Lock & key sets allow you to secure your building, but when keys are lost or stolen, the inconvenience and expense of changing locks and re-issuing keys can be considerable. Keys may be copied, creating even more security risks. Businesses have assets that need to be protected from theft. They also have to protect staff and their property. It is common in buildings that are secured by locks & key sets to be left unlocked all day. This opens up the possibility of opportunist theft & malicious damage. Access control provides the most efficient & convenient way of securing your buildings and assets.

Installing an access control system means that you will never have to change a lock again. Key fobs are issued to allow access through the controlled doors, and are easily blocked from the system if they are lost, stolen or just not returned by someone who leaves your company.  Unauthorized key fobs will not allow access through the controlled doors.

Once an access control system is installed, all doors controlled by the system will automatically lock when the door is closed. Anyone without a key fob is unable to enter.  If necessary, doors may be set to unlock or lock during a designated time frame.

Access control can also offer flexible control over users’ access rights. For example, all staff can gain access through the main door of a building, but access to internal areas may be restricted to those who have a specific need to be there. Access may also be restricted by time, granting access only to particular users at specific times of the day.

Recording & Video Management Solutions

Internet Protocol (IP) cameras, encoders, and network recorders have taken over market share from legacy analog systems. Their advent has contributed to the popularity of Video Management Systems (VMS).  VMS software offers live viewing, storage and retrieval of video sequences. Advanced VMS software contains features such as:

  • Simultaneous viewing and recording of live video from multiple cameras
  • Several recording modes: continuous, scheduled, on alarm and on motion detection
  • Capacity to handle high frame rates and large amounts of data
  • Multiple search functions for recorded events
  • Remote access via a Web browser, client software, and even smartphones and tablets
  • Control of PTZ and dome cameras
  • Alarm management functions such as sound alarm, pop-up windows, or e-mail
  • Full duplex, real-time audio support
  • Video intelligence

For many organizations, VMS software is the only thing needed. However, other organizations need more than Physical Security to protect their employees, customers, and property. They need to be situationally aware of their environment, have proper operating procedures in place, and maintain an audit trail logging all activities and actions. Physical Security Information System (PSIM) can help your organization be more situationally aware. The PSIM collects information from various disparate systems, correlates and analyzes the data. This includes events and alarms from:

  • Video Surveillance
  • Access Control Transaction (POS)
  • Intrusion Detection
  • Cyber Security
  • Communications
  • License Plate Recognition (LPR)
  • Building Automation (BAS)
  • Video Analytics
  • Fire and Life Safety
  • Traffic Management
  • Intercoms
  • Perimeter Detection
  • Radiation Sensors
  • Various other networks and systems that organizations may utilize

The PSIM manages incoming information in order to identify unique situations and their priorities. This information is illustrated in a logical fashion to the organization’s control room.

Intrusion Detection

We Mean Business

The average costs of commercial burglaries in the United States is between $2,000 and $5,500 depending on the industry.  Martin Systems knows that protecting your business is a high priority. We understand that every business has different needs, which is why our alarm systems are custom designed for every job to provide the greatest protection.  We will work with you to develop an alarm system which meets your exact requirements before deploying an advanced intrusion detection system. A competent security alarm system will act as a strong deterrent to intruders, while alerting staff and police.

Martin Systems offers all levels of security alarm systems for your business, such as highly sophisticated monitored alarms systems using security cameras, smoke detectors and intrusion alarm systems.

We use the best alarm control equipment and detection devices, giving your system flexibility and ease of use. Our business intrusion alarm systems are custom-fit to protect small shops and large industrial premises and offices.

All new alarm installations are designed to adhere with the current intrusion standards. A risk assessment is also undertaken for all new intruder alarm installations to determine the insurance risk of the property. We can provide you with a full quotation to install a new alarm system, or to service and maintain an existing alarm system.

Motion Detectors

Using dual technology, infrared and microwave, motion detectors are ideal for commercial buildings and advanced enough to distinguish between humans and rodents, particularly important in warehouses.

Vibration & Glass Break Sensors

After you’ve locked up for the night our alarm systems can use vibration detectors fitted to walls, doors and windows to ensure that personnel are alerted at the earliest stages of a break in.

Door and Surface Contact Sensors

Detect unauthorized entry into your site with door and surface contact sensors which seamlessly integrate into alarm systems for needed protection and easy monitoring.
